We brought Theo home on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from Friends of Homeless Animals. We were lucky enough to get all of his medical paper work and able to kind of put his history together.
He was taken in at SPCA of Martinsville when he was 9 months 27 days old (December 2015). In January (like January 30) 2016, he was brought to Friends of Homeless Animals.
He was adopted out in late March 2016 and then returned in early May 2016. We were able to look at his return papers and it said that he was aggressive towards the vet and strangers (typical of Shar Peis - they are guard dogs).
We were able to talk to a volunteer who has been working with at the shelter. He said that he has not seen any aggression. Theo was in a dog fight when he first came to the shelter (in January) and then when he was at the dog park with the adopter. We have watched videos of him with other dogs at the shelter and you can tell that he is not a player. He just kind of hangs out. We were also told that he did not start the fight at the shelter.
No matter what his background, we are just going forward and cautiously watching for any possible "aggression."
Theo is named after Jose Theodore who played on the Washington Capitals for a short time.
