Walgreens - 1/25/08, RAOK & rebate

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally got to Walgreens last night - saved $60.13! After closer review of my receipt - I kind of cheated Walgreens - I ASKED THE MANAGER about using multiple Walgreen coupons - one coupon per one item as I ripped out several coupons from the easy saver. She said, sure, it say's one item per coupon. Come to find out - it automatically took the multiple of the 1 coupon I needed! Whoopies! So I actually cheated Walgreens out of $3.
I got some good receipt coupons too - $5 off my next purchase and a free powerbar coupon.
The deals I got -10 free soyjoy bars (gave up on CVS and decided to use them here).
Tylenol sinus - $4.99 each plus $1 Walgreen coupon plus $1 manufacturer coupon - $2.99 each (plus the extra $3 off).
Fructis shampoo & conditioner - $3.99 minus $1.50 Walgreens coupon plus $1 of one coupon =$1.49
Fructis styler - $1.59 minus $1.50 walgreens minus $1 coupon = THEY PAID ME A DOLLAR!
degree deorderant - $2.99 minus $1 Walgreens minus 50 cents mfr coupon = $1.49 each
Carefree pantyliners - $1.49 minus 50 cents walgreens minus 50 mfr coupon = 49 cents each!
I received my Doggie envie RAOK. She even added some coupons from my wish list!
Sent out my $10 office depot rebate today - this was the best deal for Taxcut this year. The price was $34.99 everywhere this week, but Office Depot had the $10 GC rebate.

I made a trip to a different CVS yesterday and again, no Soyjoy Bars. One more CVS to try, then I'm out of luck. Otherwise, it'll be using the free coupons somewhere else. At least it will be free! I tried the strawberry one I got about a week or so ago and liked it.
I received my 2nd envie from the coupon train yesterday - AWESOME - once again, almost every single one of the coupons were from my wish list! I feel guilty for not sending more from people's wish lists, but I just don't have the coupons (yet)!
I sold another CD on amazon. Seems like I make a trip to the post office and the next day, I sell another one! I think I might cut back on sending out and just stop by the post office once a week! At least it's on my way home from work and not out of the way!
Next week will be limited shopping. I'm out of town for work basically Monday to Thursday afternoon. I'm definitely stopping at Harris Teeter for the 89 cent 2-liter of diet coke!

I stopped at CVS today to get a couple of items, but most importantly, SoyJoy bars. Of course, they are out!
Anyway, made out with CVS brand Swiffers on bogo and maybelline bogo with a $1 off coupon.
Got a $1 Easycare buck and a coupon for V05.
I'll have to try to stop by again or go to one in the next town.

Yesterday, I stopped at Wegmans to stock up on Colgate Total - 1.99 each plus I had three coupons (2 75cent coupons and 1 $1 off coupon). Plus, they had a $1 off a $4 purchase.
Also hit the dog treat aisle and used up all of my $ off one coupons along with a free coupon.
Ended up saving about $18.
The cashier was amazed at all of the coupons that I had and how much I saved. I don't think a lot of the grocery stores around here see the use of a lot of coupons.
When I got home, I received a Greenies sample and a Curves cereal sample in the mail. I was a little disappointed that the Greenies didn't have any coupons with it. The Curves sample had a $1 off one box.
I sold 2 more CDs yesterday and another one today! I'm to the point where the ladies at the post office almost know my name. They are both really friendly to me since they see me all of the time.

Visted Petsmart today with the pup. Got a couple of good deals on Busy Bones - Pet Rewards 2/$5 and then I had coupons for $1 off each.
Picked up a Christmas rope toy that was 75% off - for like $1.75.
Had lunch at Roy Rogers and used a free combo coupon - saved $7.09!
Sold another CD! Woohoo! I still have a bunch to post for sale.

So I definitely needed to get to Giant today since one of my $7 off coupons was going to expire today. PLUS a friend gave me a 5% off coupon (saved $4.15)
Highlights from this shopping trip:buy 6 lean cuisine/lean pockets get a Skinny Cow dessert FREE!
Lean Pocket - 6/10 plus 50 cent coupon doubled = 67 cents each!
Pepperidge Farm garlic bread - 2/$4 plus $1 off 2 coupon = $1.50 each
General Mills cereal - 4/$6 plus 2 75 cent coupons = $1.13 each!
Perdue shortcuts - $2 each plus $1 off/1 coupon and $1.50 off/2 = 88 cents each!
I've got my lists ready for CVS, Walgreens, and Wegmans this week. I haven't been to Wegmans in forever.
I figured out how much I have profited from my sales so far this year - $21! I have 3 more packages to send out on Tuesday. I do need to go buy some envelopes tomorrow - got to love that Dollar Tree store!
I'm sending in two refunds on Tuesday. One is for about $2 from Orvile Redenbacher's and the other is Glade for about $6.99. Hopefully, they will accept it - it was a bogo with Oust candle and the glade was rung up 2nd so shows free.
This week I got my first envelope on the coupon train that I'm in - I was so excited. I'm sending out my 2nd envelope this week. It's fun to see what you get in the mail.
I signed up for a secret pal for Valentine's Day, but found out that I have not been a member long enough and don't have enough trades yet. Oh well, next time.

I can't believe this - I've sold more CDs! Woohoo! Anyway, I sent three out today and I sold 2 more today! I still have more CDs to post.
I received my first envelope from the coupon train I'm in. I couldn't believe that the person gave me EVERYTHING that was on my wishlist! I wish I could do that, but I just don't have the number of coupons to trade to complete someones list.
I signed up for Mypoints with my "junk" e-mail address and I have been sending away for samples using it too. Of course, that will mean I get ton of spam, but that's what that e-mail is for!

I just placed an order for a $25 Visa card from Postpoints.com.
This is a slow growing point system - it takes forever to get points to add up - you can basically get 5 points from "sponsors" and answering a question about that day's paper. I don't have a subscription, so I just guess and hope I guess the right page. No biggy if I don't. I also get points from different stores that I shop at.

Sold a CD on half.com yesterday - $1.75. I should be making a little on the shipping also (1/15 - made 58 cents on the shipping). I'm listing more CDs for sale too - hopefully, I'll get some more sales this week then.
I'm debating whether or not I will participate in an indoor yard sale in February. I did it in December, and it wasn't advertised (except what my friend and I did) so the turn out was not good. It's $20 per table or 2/$30.
Stopped at Harris Teeter to take advantage of the deals this week. Receipt says saved $60.73 more than I paid!Windex - bogo and a 75 cent coupon that was doubled!
Scrubbing Bubbles - bogo and a 75 cent coupon that was doubled
Arm & Hammer detergetn - bogo
24 ct. Cottenelle - $5.99 and a $1 coupon
Peter Pan peanut butter - bogo and a $1 coupon
coke products - bogo
Healthy choice - bogo and a $1 on 4 = $1.69 each
Purdee chicken nuggets - $2.50 and $1 coupon
Then it was off to Walgreens. Receipt says saved $62.45 - once again, more than I paid!Campbells soup - 4/$5 plus 2 - $1 coupons
Chef boyardee - 2/4 plus $1 coupon
Skippy PB - 3/$5 plus $1 coupon
Benefiber - $5 in coupons (one for $3 and one for $2) - $1.49
Colgate Total - bogo
Blistex - bogo and a $1 coupon = FREE!
Kotex - 2/$5 and $1 coupon
Lysol toliet bowl cleaner, Fantastic, windex wipes - all BOGO and had $1 off each
Purex - bogo
I LOVE WALGREENS! The prices are so much better than CVS.

I used a $25 Shell Gift card yesterday. Hubby got it from his boss, but gave it to me to use. As I was pulling it out, I "found" a $10 Target gift card that I totally forgot about! Too bad I didn't use it when we went on the 1st!
Went to Walmart to pick up a few things for hubby's family trip to Canada and return a couple of things (adding to the gift cards since I forgot to use it when we were checking out). Tell me, is it stealing if the cashier rings up an item wrong and you don't say anything? Well, that happened. We bought two different batteries - one about $4 and the other about $17. She rang up 2 at $4, plus I had $1 off coupons for each. So, I saved about $15.
Then it was a trip to Dollar Tree for doggy toys, but only found one. They had food and treats and cat stuff, but no dog toys. That's the best place to buy toys for the pup since she destroys everything!
Next was Giant to get some sales items. Found some dog treats and a toy for 1/2 price, so picked those up. The sales were:
Wisk - $3.99 and $1 coupon - $2.99
Wishbone - 2/$5 and $1 off 2 - $2 each
Dove Conditioner - $2.99 and $2 coupon - 99 cents
Skippy peanut butter - 3/$5 and $2 off - $1 each
Orville popcorn - $2/4 and $1 off - $1.66 each
Used my $7 off coupon and guess what - I GOT ANOTHER ONE! CRAZY!

SoyJoy Bar - free
Southbeach snack bars - $2 with $1 coupon = $1

Benefiber - $6.49 plus $3 Walgreen coupon plus $2 coupon = $1.49
Lucky Charms - $2 plus 50 cent coupon = $1.50
Arm & Hammer detergent - $5.99 BOGO plus $1 coupon = $2.50 each
I guess the Walgreens is finally in the "system" with clearance items. I finally saw the unadvertised sales people have been talking about on the boards here and I got a catalina (register coupon) $1.50 off 3 General Mills cereals.

I spent yesterday afternoon doing our yearly budget and reorganizing our Money software (the different categories the expenses are labeled).
We are very lucky and fortunate that our "budget" is just a guideline. We don't live paycheck to paycheck and we spoil ourselves by eating out a lot and buying whatever we want. But ALWAYS pay ourselves first to reach that goal of a peaceful retirement where we don't have to worry about the money.
That being said - I received notice of my increase and bonus today and it should hit the next paycheck. Bonus is always nice because we usually knock a big piece off of a bill. Usually it's the credit card, but this year will be the Jeep payment.
I had already figured out with the budget that we could probably pay it off by the end of 2008. Now it'll be sooner.
ROCK ON!
Sold: a 45 for $3.99 on Amazon. Made 66 cents on the shipping too!

We stopped by Giant today to get the usual and a couple of things on sale.
Progresso Soup - 10/10 - had a $1.10 off 3 coupon = 63 cents each!
Chef Boyardee - 10/10 - had $1 off 5 = 80 cents each.
Juicy Juice - $2.19 each - $1 off 2 - $1.69 each.
Colgate Total - $1.99 each - $1 off 1 - 99 cents each PLUS I received 2 coupons for $7 off my next order! JACKPOT!
Also, grabbed some of the aisle coupons that I will actually use (dog treats and cereal). Hubby was getting all into grabbing the coupons. He even said - I'm surprised your not grabbing them all and posting them on that site.
Iams tartar control snacks are 1/2 off - need to find coupons for that!
One giftcard down - used the balance on the Chipotle giftcard.

It's not that it's that far out of the way, it's not. I just DO NOT feel like even dealing with food this week. I was REALLY sick this week and still do not have an appetite. I've tried, but can't even look at the ads - nothing looks or sounds good.

Using the Entertainment Coupon Book

This is the first year I've ever bought the Entertainment Coupon book, so the goal is to save more than I spent on the book ($23).
Hubby and I are looking forward to checking out some new restaurants with the bogo offers.
Here's the list of my savings:free bagel entree at Ashburn Bagel Shop - $4
20% off on one item at Claires - $2
1/2/08 - $17 to break even!
