Up in Hornell - Uneventful drive up - that's always good.

Within the first hour of being here - closed Helen's checking account since she never uses it anymore - a whopping $40 in it with the bank taking $6.50 out for services each month - they have been making money on her for a while - she hasn't used it since I don't know when.

Then - I stopped at the gas station to pick up and ran into a guy that I used to hang out with in high school - I haven't seen him since I graduated - and he recognized me before I recognized him. He was a couple of years behind me, but still remembered. He's a deputy with Steuben County Sheriff's department.

Going to go see family and the Johnson's tonight. Might be just Ginny as Ted had surgery this week. As for the family - Mae has a dance, so might see her, might not.

Wow - almost a week has gone by - it's been busy at work and I've been doing things in the evening.

The week in review -

Saturday - got groceries and went to see Evick at Bunglow's (http://pages.loudouncounty.com/dining/bungalow.htm). We stayed for one set and headed home.

Sunday, Dan and I went and saw "Inside Man" - pretty good movie! Then we watched Harry Potter at home. We bought the video on Saturday.

Monday - work and then home.

Tuesday - work and then I went to a Creative Memories class - it ended up being just me! But, Karen (the consultant) and I had fun.

Wednesday - Almost met a famous Japanese person - The PR department of the Airports Authority called and asked about taping a Japanese celebrity in a newsstand. The newsstand was all ready and then found out that the guy cancelled. Bummer. After work - shelter - had fun with the kitties - there is a big ass cat up there - probably like 20 lbs if not more! I picked him up and I felt like I was holding a toddler! Great cat though - he was purring the whole time.

Today - just work and packing. Dan's home - he didn't feel good - more than likely - allergies - it's that time again.

Tomorrow - driving to NY.

Lunch at Picante's with the co-workers was fun yesterday.

Chris had called the restaurant to tell them that we were coming. After we ordered, the owners came by and told us the history of the restaurant and about expansion plans. After we ate, they showed us the kitchen, the catering kitchen and the future catering kitchen and takeout window. Within a month or so, they will be taking over the bar area of Sully's and Sully's will be shrinking. The owner of Picante's said that Sully's were going to get rid of the bands. I've checked with Evick and they said no, Sully's is still having bands.

Today, I received a call from my cousin, John, that lives in Florida. His wife is the daughter of my grand uncle, on my grandmother's side (Clark, maiden name Crandall). Anyway, Dan and I met John and Nancy on our honeymoon. To tell you the truth, I can't remember exactly how they got a hold of me. I must have sent a letter to Nancy's dad and I think they were going through his things and found it. Anyway - Dan and I had a blast with them and their sons when we visited. Since then, we've chatted every once in a while. Nancy passed away a couple of years ago from cancer, but I still send John a christmas letter. John didn't sound too good on the phone - I can tell that he's lonely - he even said that and that he hates his apartment. He did say that he goes to church almost every day and volunteers there. The reason why he called is that he has a bible that he believes is from the Clark side of the family and that he's going to send it to me. Cool! He said that it's missing the cover, but we could always have it rebound. I think I'm going to send him a replacement bible - I could tell that he was kind of having a hard time sending it off.

The birthday week continues -

The rest of the hockey pictures are up on the photos page.

Today, I received 2 birthday cards and my name in a national publication! WHAT? Yes - I was quoted in the magazine ARN (www.AirportRevenueNews.com). I was contacted by a reporter and (as per Westfield procedures), contacted our VP to let them know the reporter called. She reviewed everything before e-mailing it off, and VOILA - I'm in print. LOL I'm not sure if the pictures will work, but they are on the pictures page. You can print them out and should be able to read it.

So far birthday week has been good.

Sunday, Dan gave me two items that were on my Creative Memories wish list.

Monday started great with a surprise call from my "adopted" parents - Ted & Ginny Johnson. They were my "adopted' parents even when the parents were around! I basically spend EVERYDAY at their house up until I moved to VA - and I mean EVERYDAY. I found out that Ted & Ginny actually called the house and woke Dan up first - no one lead on until I said to Dan - they called the house first didn't they!

Monday evening - dinner at Chipotle and then the hockey game. Montreal won - which I figured would happen. The Caps haven't been doing well. Our seats were great. They weren't where I thought they would be - I thought we were going to be close to the end of the Montreal bench and ended up being closer to the Caps bench and behind the box that the cameraman is in - USUALLY - BUT - no cameraman last night so we had an AWESOME VIEW! Check out the pictures that I took - the batteries on the camera started to die, so I didn't get as many as I wanted, but good enough! BEWARE - some of the pictures ARE blurry - a couple of times as soon as the camera came on, I was able to click and not even know if I got anything - LOL! I DID get a pretty good shot of a body check that happened RIGHT in front of us.

Today has been good too - Stephanie, my boss, got me a cloth makeup bag. Co-worker, Christina bought me a Strawberries & Cream Frappaccino from Starbucks (YUMMY!).

The best - I called Helen and just had to hint a little - She asked where I was (Work); then I asked "Do you know what day it is?" No response. I say "March 21"; She says "It's someone's birthday!" Then she starts apoligizing that she didn't send me a card - she didn't get out last week, but she probably could have when to the gift shop downstairs - LOL! HEELLLOOO - you fell and went to the hospital????? NO - I didn't say that - just thought it.

Anyway, I said, well, you can sing to me then - she started singing the traditional happy birthday; I said what about the church way - so she started singing it - she didn't realize it - but I started to tear up. Tears of joy and precious moments. She's the only one that has sung the church birthday song since moving down to VA, so it's special.

Friday is lunch with the co-workers. It was supposed to be a surpise, but Stephanie let me in on it today. Chris was planning it and planned on taking me to Picante's. He didn't even lead on yesterday when I told him that's where I went on Friday - AND I made the comment about not hearing about any plans yet. Stephanie said that Chris was ALL happy that I liked the place.

Anyway - now the day is winding down - I'll be spending the rest of the evening - sitting in front of the TV with Babe.

Oh - VJ did make it by on Friday (for like 10 minutes - and I got my first gift EVER from him (that he bought with his own money)! It's a Disney hockey puck - so fitting.

The birthday celebration started yesterday - Dan gave to two presents (a photo storage box and photo software from Creative Memories) and then 2 sugar cookies (YUMMY!).

Tonight, he'll be taking me out to Chipotle for dinner and then to the hockey game - WHERE WE WILL BE RIGHT BEHIND THE MONTREAL BENCH! The camera's coming with us, so check for pictures later in the week.

Just chilling today.

When to the mall to return a bracelet that I bought for the charity dinner work had us go to - I broke out from it.

Then Walmart. Not too bad there since it was the middle of the day. Usually it's so crowded and you have to wait in line forever.

Tonight - dinner with Suzanne at Picantes (www.picantetherealtaco.com) and then going to Sully's (www.mysullys.com) to see Evick (www.evick.com). Wow - this will be like the good old days for me and Suzanne - going to concerts - and Evick to boot! We used to go see Pete (the singer) and Chuck (the drummer) all of the time - a long time ago!

We're supposed to have a visitor this weekend. My nephew, VJ, is driving back with his friends from Orlando. They went there for spring break.

Aunt Helen fell this week - Wednesday, right after I got off the phone with her. She fell putting the (cordless) phone back on the hook. Of course, she hit her head - that's the norm. Ended up with 2 staples in her head and a big goose egg. It's just amazing, she NEVER does anything but hit her head everytime she falls. She gets bad bruises, but ALWAYS hits her head.

Woohoo - three day weekend coming up for me! Of course, I know I'll have a bunch of e-mails on Monday. BUT Monday is the hockey game!

This weekend will be spent making posters (for Richard Zednik) for the hockey game since we will be right behind the Montreal's bench.

My new obsession is my coke rewards (www.mycokerewards.com). If I save up 28,000 points, I can get a trip to Las Vegas - of course, that's a lot of soda. Each 20 oz bottle is only 3 points each! So, if you drink coke and aren't signing up for my coke rewards, save them for me!

There must be a full moon or something - too many crazy things are happening.

Monday, it was the hostage situation in Ashburn - over a stupid gas bill.

Tuesday, it was the GW Parkway incident - the Taxicab driver who ran the traffic stop and tried to run over police, police shot and he kept going.

And then last night, as I'm driving by Dulles Town Center Mall, police had blocked off the parking lot entrances to the mall and there were police cars at every entrance of the mall.

CRAZY!

Working, working, working.....but Dan's going to bring me Chipotle for lunch and eat here with me. YUMMY!

Last night we went out with our friends Chrissie & David. Dinner at Famous Dave's (www.famousdaves.com) and then back to their house for a couple of rounds of Scene It! (www.sceneit.com) Warner Brothers TV edition. I think this is going to be our new thing with them - playing several rounds of Scene It. It's a great game and goes pretty fast.

OH the new toy news - we got Ipod Shuffles! Yesterday morning we spend time loading and trying to figure them out. Dan was the one that wanted one, but I got a good deal, so decided that I might as well get one too.

So, last night didn't go too bad at the charity event and I'll admit it was a little fun getting all dressed up, since I never get a chance to do that.

I FINALLY found a dress on Sunday and you would not believe the price - $6.98! SERIOUSLY! I spend more money on the shawl and jewelry.

In the pic - standing, Angela (from National) and Christina; seated, me and Sandy.
