So I haven't really been typing what's been going on here - some stuff, so I figured I catch up a little. Along with adding some pics.
The hockey game was fun. Our seats were great. Everyone got a free practice jersey. I'll add the pics that I took. A funny thing that happened before the game - we were over by where the sportscasters were. So Brett Haber from Channel 9 was there ( http://www.wusa9.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=34449) and we watched the whole time he was preparing for the "live" sports section/broadcast. Dan kept joking around that he should run behind Brett while he's on TV. Anyway, Brett was done and he just happened to look over towards us and I clapped my hands/applauded him for a job well done. He just started to laugh and said thank you, thank you. LOL.
On the way home, I was trying to get a picture of some road signs - didn't really turn out - but for a good laugh! I was trying to get the two signs that are together that are almost my maiden name - ROSSLYN CLARK. One sign is for going to Rosslyn, VA and the other is the Clark Street exit. Just needed to change the two letters and it would have been a cool picture.
Took some pictures of the flowers coming up in our back yard. I'll be adding them too.
We had a little peeking tom last week. This little bird kept coming to our back door trying to get in. He kept coming back, so I was able to get a picture of him. I told Dan I bet it's the baby bird that I SCARED out of the nest we had in our plants hanging on the porch last year. He's come back for revenge.
Today, we went to the National Weather Service open house (http://www.erh.noaa.gov/er/lwx/). It was pretty cool - especially since I'm so into weather! Funny - I never was into it when we were learning about it in science class! Took a couple of pics there too. We went in a Tornado/Hurricane similator that Loudoun County has - it was pretty cool.
I have a couple of pics from when we visited Aunt Helen too.
Friday, I went to a Tastefully Simple party (www.tastefullysimple.com). It was fun. Sandy and Suzanne went with me. It's fun to finally have some of my friends actually meet that haven't yet! So Suzanne & Sandy and Michelle all got to meet after talking about each other to each other. I told Suzanne and Sandy to go to the party hungry and they ended up almost being sick from snacking on the dips and that!
Last night, we went to a little party that my boss, Stephanie, was having. It was ok - Dan enjoyed himself with the wine - he was little tipsy when we left! Funny thing is, he didn't know he liked wine that much!
Tomorrow, Babe has a doctor's appointment to get her nails clipped. Yes, I can't do them myself and Dan won't hold her down - he hates her screaming. I'm going to have her belly clipped too while I'm at it. She's getting MUCH better at me brushing her.

This blog started as The adventures of a D.I.N.K. family where the two "kids" are four legged and how we are going to retire early. Now it's a 1 income, 1 entrepreneur, and 1 pup getting closer and closer to retirement.

The latest obsession(s) -
My Coke Rewards - The more 20 oz. diet coke I drink, the more points I can get! I'm saving up points (28,000 to be exact) for a trip to Las Vegas OR a backstage concert experience. The thing is - each 20 oz is only 3 points - that's a lot of soda! I have my sources for collecting though - Dan has every one at his work saving the tops and I have a manager at one of the stores save her tops for me! www.mycokerewards.com
MySpace.com - Ok, so I finally started my own myspace page - I am so hooked! I'm actually catching up with some old friends that I haven't talked to in quite a while. Dan's been home for the last two nights. He went to the doctor's on Saturday because his head was hurting and his throat was sore. The doctor never really said if it was a sinus infection or on the way to a sinus infection, but gave him antibiotics and a decongestive.
Anyway - good thing he was home last night. About 8 p.m., the wind starting picking up - no real rain, just some drops. THEN - boom - there goes the siding! It was whipping in the wind for a little while and then we couldn't stand it any more. So, Dan's hanging out the window at 8:30 at night trying to pull the siding down. He got it with me holding onto his legs and hanging half way out of the window. LOL!
I told him - see there was a reason why you needed to stay home tonight!

Getting ready for the last game of the season for the Caps.
This is a tradition for us - going to the first and last game of the season. I ordered the tickets the other day - it won't be right at the glass, but still down in the lower section.

Last night was fun -
Forty Acres was good. I chatted with John a little and he said that while they were setting up, someone asked if they would play "Freebird" LOL! - I said, what about Child's Play? He said they aren't going to play that crap - LOL! On his myspace page he said asked about a promo - they were selling them for like $2. I went to hand him the money and he's like - don't worry about it! The waitress even gave us our drinks (water & diet coke) free!
I asked John about SR-71 (www.sr-71.net) the band he's drummer for right now and he said that they are on hitatus - we all know what that means!
Today, Dan and I went and got bagels for brunch and then went to Off Broadway Shoes around the corner because Hot 99.5 (www.hot995.com) was there. Good thing we went - no one was around the table. They were giving away gift certificates for Off Broadway - and I won one! They asked a question - who's on this t-shirt? It was a Teapot Tim is my Homeboy T-shirt and I jump right up front (of the 10 people that were standing there), and won. Then they handed out t-shirts too and I got one of the t-shirts too!
After that, we went to the mall so Dan could get his hair trimmed. I ended up at Sam Goody - 60% off everything, so I got a couple of CDs.
Then home and we watched the Nardia DVD that I bought the other day. Basically, just chilling today.

A sad thing happened this week - I had to disconnect Helen's phone. This was probably the first phone number I ever dialed! Sad, sad, sad, but better than having her fall again.
I'm working Sunday, so I'm off today. Going out to dinner with Suzanne and then to see Forty Acres (www.myspace.com/fortyacres ). The drummer used to be in a band we used to go see all of the time.
I had lunch with Dan (Chipotle's, of course) and doing some shopping (Walmart and Petsmart).

Well - what a week it's been so far.
It's been one thing after another at work - constantly putting out fires. We had two new cart tenants move in and had a few problems. Nothing too bad, but just a hassle.
Anyway - good news today - I've been asked to fill in while the Divisional Specialty Leasing Manager (for all of the airports) is on maternity leave! WOOHOO! MORE WORK! Actually, it's a good thing. It's a great opportunity to shine. Basically, I'll make sure everything continues in our cart program throughout the whole division (8 airports). There's a kind of big project coming up too - we are adding carts to an airport (Houston) so I need to get everything in order when the date comes around to move everyone in.
It won't be in effect until July, but that'll be coming fast!

RICK SPRINGFIELD IS GOING TO BE IN ASHBURN! He's coming to the Loudoun County Music Festival (a weekly concert program) on July 16! WOO HOO! Do you think he'll be able to come over to the house for a visit? It's right around the corner - less than a mile. LOL. I've already e-mailed my Rick Springfield partner in crime - my sister-in-law, Kristina.
It's 9 am and we're getting ready to go spend the day with Helen. I've got my magazines all ready for the duration. She usually falls asleep during the day, so there's some down time.
