Six Years without a Car Accident
So today we took the Jeep in for work that needed to be done. When the Jeep was in for the catalytic converter, the dealer (and Goodyear) said that it needed rear brakes, had three different leaks and need the drive belt changed.
Usually, they call to get the ok on the work, but this time it was a call to say that the Jeep was in an accident in the parking lot. The tech backed out of a parking space when someone else was and also backing out and they hit. GREAT! We've had the jeep for 6 years and never had an accident and then when it is in an accident, we aren't even driving.
Anyway, before I could even call our insurance, the other guy's insurance called and said they are taking full responsibility for the accident. We are hoping to get the Jeep back on Monday night (they are closed tomorrow due to Easter) and then we'll take it to the body shop on Tuesday. We'll be getting a rental and will just need to pay for gas.
Today just hasn't gone as planned. I work up (and stilll do) feeling a little sick. I'm sure it's just sinuses. Dan put on his plumber hat today and changed the faucet to the sink. It took longer than he expected, with 3 extra trips to Home Depot, but it's done! Woohoo!
The good thing that happened today - The Caps won! We are going to the 2nd round!

C-A-P-S, CAPS, CAPS, CAPS! and a miracle Saturday
Last Wednesday, a work acquaintance called and asked if I would be interested in tickets to Friday's game. HELL YEAH!
JH & I had never met, but have had e-mail and phone chats about the Caps starting about a month ago when she found out that I'm a huge Caps fan. So Friday night, we finally got to meet and chatted the whole night. JH & her boyfriend have season tickets and the people next to them were selling their tickets. These seats are 3 rows up from the Capitals bench! WOOHOO!
It was a great game - being able to get some good pictures of the players AND I GOT A PUCK! They were switching out the game puck and it was given to Smitty, the trainer, so I did hand signals and mo, "Can I have it?" He mouthed "You want it?" and threw it over the glass to me! The guy in front of me grabbed it (because he was taller), but handed it to me. I think because he knew JH & her boyfriend. So it was all cool.
Hopefully, we'll get to go to another game, but if not, that will be our last game of the year : (
Saturday was a miracle. Why you ask? I slept in until 11 am and DH & the pups slept in until 11:30 am! IT'S A MIRACLE! Esa did wake up at 8:30 am (which is late to begin with), so her and Zed went outside. Zed did a pitstop, but Esa didn't make it off of the top back step before it started to rain, so back in she came. I said "OK, everyone back to bed". Upstairs we went and back to sleep. AMAZING! Too bad this can't happen more often! It was great being able to sleep in.

Productive Weekend and a Busy Week So Far
Ancestry.com has Civil War records available for free this week (April 7 to 14). Whenever they have the free days, I take advantage of it. I spent the majority of Saturday searching on the website. This time, I was able to figure out information regarding my great grandmother family on my dad's side (my grandmother's mom). Mattie passed away when my grandmother was 11 years old. I ordered her death certificate so was able to get her parent's information from that. I was able to find info on her parents (Francis Brown & Emily Davis). I was able to link census records and some military records.
The crazy thing about all of this family tree information is that I have received 2 messages from other people on Ancestry.com about Dan's family tree. I'm surprised I've only gotten 1 message regarding my family tree.
Sunday was all about taxes. What a pain in the butt, but a necessary evil. Thank goodness for H&R Block software! It definitely makes it easier, but if you don't answer a question right, you're screwed. Which is what I almost did - thank you very much - I looked at the form online and I realized that something wasn't right, so went in and fixed it. Still the end product is that we have to pay over $2,000 in taxes (bbbboooooo). I kind of screwed us over by not making as many cash donations as we did in 2009 because I thought I would be out of a job. Then at the end of the year, I still thought I was going to be out of a job (by the end of January) and didn't even think about the deductions by that time. Also my IRA was changed to a ROTH IRA and we had to pay taxes on that. BBBBLLLLAAAAHHHHH!!! Anyway, lesson learned (once again), I am not going to worry about money until it stops coming in. Along with not putting my life on hold because I don't know what's going to happen with my job.
Esa is still not using her right rear leg 100%. We put her on anti-inflammatory meds (left over from Zed) and will see if that helps (we hope so). If that doesn't help, we will need to take her to the emergency vet to see if they can find out anything.
The last two days I have been stiff too. I must have slept wrong or something. Yesterday I was hurting in the morning, but then loosened up by mid-morning. Today was worse. I ended up getting a massage first thing this morning and stopped at the chiropractor this evening.
My brother is doing well. He started chemo last Wednesday and it is helping him feel better although he has had bad days since then too.

Successful visit with the vet AKA the miracle of peanut butter
Last night both pups had a visit with the vet. This was just for their yearly check up and their booster, rabies and bordatella shots. This was also the first time that Dan has been home for a vet visit in a while (except for the checkup on Zed and his sprained leg).
I don't worry about Zed, because he's so good with everything. He might whine but that's it. Esa is another story. Last time, we got one shot in her and then she wouldn't sit still. The time before, we tried to trim her nails. Two nuzzles and a gauze muzzle later, she still got out of them and we gave up on the nails. Up until about a month ago, I could hardly put a bandana on her.
Zed was first and did great. He whined on the 2nd shot, but really yelped on the third. That led to Dan covering his ears and scrunching his face. Zed did great with his nails being clipped too.
Next was Esa. We kind of cornered her and I had the peanut butter, Dan had her collar and Chrissie was ready with the shots. She did GREAT! As long as her mouth was busy with the peanut butter, she did fine. She stopped eating the peanut butter when the shot was given, but went right back to it. We were all in shock.
Yesterday, both pups were sore from the shots, but doing well. This morning when I left, Esa was limping a little on the other leg (where the shot wasn't given). We'll see if it is just sore or maybe fell asleep (from sleeping on it all night). She's staying home from daycare today, just so she doesn't overdo it.
