Successful visit with the vet AKA the miracle of peanut butter

Last night both pups had a visit with the vet.  This was just for their yearly check up and their booster, rabies and bordatella shots.  This was also the first time that Dan has been home for a vet visit in a while (except for the checkup on Zed and his sprained leg).

I don't worry about Zed, because he's so good with everything.  He might whine but that's it.  Esa is another story.  Last time, we got one shot in her and then she wouldn't sit still.  The time before, we tried to trim her nails.  Two nuzzles and a gauze muzzle later, she still got out of them and we gave up on the nails.  Up until about a month ago, I could hardly put a bandana on her.

Zed was first and did great.  He whined on the 2nd shot, but really yelped on the third.  That led to Dan covering his ears and scrunching his face.  Zed did great with his nails being clipped too.

Next was Esa.  We kind of cornered her and I had the peanut butter, Dan had her collar and Chrissie was ready with the shots.  She did GREAT!  As long as her mouth was busy with the peanut butter, she did fine.  She stopped eating the peanut butter when the shot was given, but went right back to it.  We were all in shock.

Yesterday, both pups were sore from the shots, but doing well.  This morning when I left, Esa was limping a little on the other leg (where the shot wasn't given).  We'll see if it is just sore or maybe fell asleep (from sleeping on it all night).  She's staying home from daycare today, just so she doesn't overdo it.
