Friday Fragments - August 10

Friday Fragments - Episode 210

• Work gets in the way of blogging.  I really need to be more consistant with blogging!
• Work has been getting to me lately - how do you deal with work stress?
• 2 weeks until the start of a 2 week vacation!
• Zed is finally getting better from his setback from the beach.  He was licking his paws so much, we got him on a strong anti-itch med for a few days and it seemed to help.
• I realized last week that right now, we can describe Zed as a black with white dog.  Soon it will be white with black dog.  He is getting so white.  The white just shows up throughout his body (not just his face) and keeps expanding.  Luckily, it's just his fur, he doesn't act like he's getting old (we believe he's 7-8 years old).

• Since Esa's last bath, she has this little curl in her fur.  It's so cute - it's the only curl on her body - the rest of her fur is straight.  I'll try to get a picture of it & add it on here.

Friday Fragments - Episode 206

• When posting pictures on Facebook - especially those that can only publicly be seen (cover pic or profile pic), make sure you look good in it.  It may end up in your 25th high school reunion video like mine did.  Not that it's a really bad pic, but it was taken while we were geocaching/hiking & my hair is all pulled back and picked up dog poop is in the picture!
• I got another compliment about not looking my age.  When I went to the doctor's this week, the doctor asked my age and when I told her, she said I thought you were in your 30's.
• Dan has told me about this show before, but I finally watched it this week (this is what happens when you are stuck at home) - REPO GAMES!  This is an awesome game!  The car is about to get repossessed and they can play a game (answer 5 trivia questions) and if they win, the car is paid off.  Let's just say, these people aren't middle class & probably dropped out of school.  The concept is really good though - at least some people win their car back! 
• I sold my first item on Yardsellr this week.  Get this - I sold the item to someone who is from my hometown (but doesn't live there anymore).  That's just crazy!

Friday Fragments Episode 205

• The next time we have a Wednesday off, I'm taking the rest of the week off.  This has been the hardest 2 days to work.
• We are going to break the record for the most days above 90 today.  I prefer the cold to the heat.  At least with the cold, you can put on layers to keep warm.  When it's hot, forget it!
• Saturday, we gave blood at the library. We were driving by the library on our way to lunch and decided that we would stop by after lunch. Well, I told the tech my birthdate XX/XX/69. She goes,"89?' I said "no, 69" this went back 3 or 4 times. When she finally said, "there's no way I would have thought you were a 60's baby! You don't look your age!"

Friday Fragments - June 29, 2012

Friday Fragments Episode 204

• I didn't think I would make it through the week this week at work - It was one of the busiest weeks in a LONG time.  I ached a lot and was exhausted every evening (from walking at least 10K steps on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday), but I made it.
• The Jeep made it 80,000 miles this week!
• Ever walk outside and smell smoke - like a house is on fire?  That happened this week.  Come to find out, it was from wild fires . These are over  90 miles from our house!  Crazy.
• Random compliments I got this week -
• That I'm a good public speaker - this was from our guest speaker at our tenant meeting
• That they loved my personality - this was from a tenant who met me for the first time.
• That I had the best A/R (accounts receivable) in the division - from the VP of our division & he said it with all but 2 (out of 11) airports on the call

Friday Fragments: Episode 203

Things I learned this week:

• There's no way that we will ever get hardwood floors with dog - all we heard all week was click, click, click of the toesnails on the floors.
• Zed doesn't do well at the beach - emotionally & physically.  He didn't finally relax until about Wednesday.  Before that he had to constantly be with us and did not just lay down.  Physically, he was constantly scratching.  Since we've been home (5 hours), no scratching.
• One day, we want to have a place at the beach.
• The more I'm not at work, the more I want to retire.  I need to really stick to the plan to pay off the mortgage.
• Read "self-help"/"learning" books even if you think you know all about it.  I had some ah-ha moments when I was reading "How to Shop for Free" this week.  It has been motivating.

Friday Fragments, Episode 202

• There was a family of geese walking across Waxpool Road on Wednesday.  I was worried all day that they didn't make it across.  Going West, there was a break in traffic, but going East, there was a ton of traffic.  I was hoping that the cars behind me woud stop - they must have.  No injured geese in the road when I came home : )
• I cannot wait for the beach on Sunday!
• I am looking forward to going to Brody Bash on Saturday and seeing The Excentrics.
• I watched The Lost Boys: The Tribe.  OMG - so cheesey.  Storyline was basically the same as the first movie.

I found out about this blogroll from my online friend, Nani.    This is a great idea - just things that have happened during the week that don't fill a whole entry.

Here goes -

• I started using Instagram this week.
• I've been really stressed this week - which lead to me going off on a tenant.  That only happens once in a blue moon.
• Someone new commented on my blog this week - Wayne Smith.  Thanks for stopping by!  It's great to know that someone else is at least looking at my blog!
• It's nice that I am able to joke around with my boss's boss.  GC, you are the man!
• I got a chemical peel for the first time - all week my face has been peeling.  I'm not sure about this....I have 2 more sessions that I paid for through Groupon.
