The first two days of vacation have been relaxing. Saturday was puppy class and then we came home. It was WAY too hot for the pup to be outside at Michelle's house (where we were going to go for a cookout).
Yesterday, I did the birthday shopping (and some house shopping and clothes shopping for me). I've completed Dan's list and think I'll be getting some gift cards for the nieces & nephew for their birthdays & Chrissy's graduation.
We purchased a 500 GB external hard drive yesterday. We need it. This poor computer is getting full & slow from me and my music!
Today, is a trip to the mall. Dan wants to get his hair cut - pictures will be posted later. He's getting like 10 inches off. I'm hoping I can go get a pedicure. Then it'll be home and pay the bills.

The haircut came out a little shorter than Dan liked, but he's ok with it. I am too - his hair looks a lot healthier. Dan's already said that he's going to grow it out a bit. The hair is going to Locks of Love.

COUNTDOWN - I am SO READY for vacation. SP will be leaving around 12:30 so that will mean an easy afternoon.
Dan has calmed down from yesterday and said that he'll be taking the whole week off also - he needs the time away from work. He did mentioned about planning a couple of day trips and on the list so far is: movies (to the Pirates), going to a park (Dan drives by this park everyday and always says he wants to check it out), financial planner meeting, cake for Dan's birthday (you're nuts if you think I'm going to make it). I told him that I need to go shopping this weekend for his birthday. So a fun, relaxing week is ahead of us with the pup.
Everyday it's somthing new with her. Yesterday I stopped at the grocery store and picked up another "raggedy animal" (this one is basically just like the picture posted earlier). She pulled it right out of the grocery bag when I got home! I also pulled out some of the dollar toys and she was busy with them - of course the "tough stuff" ones didn't last - whatever - they are staying outside (they stink of rubber) and will keep her out of the mulch. I've given her my garden gloves which she loves to play with - they are easy to replace and aren't that expensive. She hasn't really chewed them yet - just carried it around in her mouth.
I tried to teach Esa "shake" yesterday. Not too successful. She doesn't shake naturally like some dogs - I'm sure she'll get it eventually though! Tomorrow is puppy class - she's pretty much gotten the "sit/down" command and is pretty good with "loose leash". Still nipping, but every day it gets better.

Change in plans for next week -
Kristina called Dan and told him that they can't go to Atlantic City. Jon has some presentation on Monday, and has to prepare for it. Dan is all upset - he was pysched about going (even though he was worried about Esa). I mentioned about us still going, but both of us were really looking forward to going with them. No big deal to me. I'm just looking forward to hanging out at home and spending some time with the pup (and the man).
Dan might not take the week off now - at least that's what he said. Whatever - I'm taking it off. I need a break.

I can't believe Esa is 14 weeks already - she's getting so big.
Last night, Elijah came over and played with her again for about half an hour. Then we went on a walk for about an hour.
I am SO ready for vacation next week. I'm so unmotivated at work this week - I'm trying to get some work done, but not getting too far! We really don't have too much planned (except for Atlantic City. Which is good since it's been a tiring month with the pup! She's worth it though.
I need to run home at lunchtime today to let Esa out. Dan had to go in early to DC and then to Tysons then will be coming home early. In the meantime, time to get back to work.

Well - what a weekend - totally wiped out and counting the days until Saturday when the vacation starts!
Esa had her first puppy class on Saturday. There was a bit of a mix up. Petsmart had it listed as a group class at 12 noon. We showed up and the trainer had a private class. She said we could come in at 12:30 or wait until 1 to have a separate class. We waited until 1. Esa was so tired, but she did SO well. The trainer (Leslie) was impressed with her. Leslie said that she has a couple of 1 year olds that can't do what Esa was doing. Thank goodness her german shepherd is coming out in the training!
Yesterday, we had the CF Walk. Esa did great - she was well behaved with all of the people touching her and LOVED the walk in the woods. She took a couple of breaks (we had water with us for her), but the breaks weren't that long. The photographer took a couple of pictures of her too, so she'll probably be on the website! Afterwards, she crashed, but I could tell it wasn't the usual deep sleep.
Esa did great on the hour drive up and back. I sat in the back with her. On the way up, she was interested in looking out the windows. On the way back, she was way to tired and just laid down beside me.
At home is when she REALLY crashed. I think she took like a 2 hour nap! Of course we had a hard time getting her to sleep at bedtime then.

"Aunt" Suzanne came over to take care of Esa last night after work so I could go to a work dinner. LUCKILY, everything went fine and Esa was still ok in the crate when I got home (no accidents).
Esa's new trick - retrieving her new stuffed toy! Last night, I threw her toy and kept saying "bring it back" and she did! She wouldn't drop it immediately. I would try to get it from her and say "drop it" - eventually she would let go and let me throw it again.

Poor Dan – I think he is realizing that Esa is "my" dog.
Last night at 1:45 AM, he was trying to get Esa to sleep and she just kept barking. I came downstairs because I figured he wasn’t home. He was sitting there in front of the crate and said "I’ve been trying for half an hour to get her to lay down". I sat down and said lay down (a couple of times) and she did – Dan’s like “she likes you better than me” - WHAT COULD I SAY! I just shrugged my shoulders and said “she knows who mommy is”.
That's the second time he's mentioned something like that to me. He mentioned that she listens to me (ie to come in from outside), but he sometimes has to carry her in.
Last night, I stopped at Shoppers and picked up a couple of "dollar" toys - slim pickings, but at least it will get us through to Saturday when we go to Petsmart. I picked up a couple of round rawhides, some square ones, treats, and a "stuffed" toy that has fleece, a round cord on top, a squeeky, and felt "legs & arms (the picture is similar to the one I picked up). She LOVES it - but I had to cut off the felt tassles that were all over the side of the body - Esa immediately got pieces off of them. I don't think it will last very long.....
I gave her a round rawhide last night and she got a piece off of it, and of course, right before bed time, tried to "bury" it - in the house. Finally she just put it down on the stairs. Dan said this morning he gave it to her while she was outside (and he was busy picking up her "business"). He turned back around and she had buried it.

Is This Really Goodbye, 'Girls'?
'Gilmore' Fans May Be Unhappy With the Show's Abrupt Ending
By Jennifer Frey

For seven years there are those who have been a bit obsessed with Lorelai and Rory, the "Gilmore Girls." It started with that freakishly near-perfect mother-daughter thing they have going. Helped along by the rapid-fire dialogue "Gilmore" is known for, they are two halves of the same whole, finishing each other's sentences, each seemingly telegraphing the other's thoughts.
The other object of fascination is Luke, diner guy, the one who always had the thing for Lorelai (and she for him). The one who was a better father-figure to Rory than her real dad ever was. The one who indulged their addictions to caffeine and fries.
Will Luke and Lorelai ever get married? That is the tantalizing, and ever-lingering, question, one that is evergreen in romantic comedies and dramas (think Carrie and Mr. Big on "Sex and the City" or Rachel and Ross on "Friends").
But what if there is no answer?
Forget closure, people. It appears the fans are the ones getting left at the altar.
(Spoiler alert, for those "Gilmore" fans who for some reason haven't been hanging on every utterance from Lauren Graham, who plays Lorelai. She disclosed that although the couple are headed in a positive "direction" -- as she put it to TV Guide -- there ain't no wedding.)
Tonight, "Gilmore Girls" comes to an end after seven seasons -- six on the now-extinct WB, the current one on the CW -- and, according to more than one cast member, the conclusion is less than satisfying. (The network did not provide an advance copy of the episode.) One of those shows that had only decent ratings but a tremendously loyal following, "Gilmore" wraps up in a way that series regular Kelly Bishop describes as "disrespectful" to fans.
"There's so much written into that script, it almost seemed as if -- certainly with my character, certainly with Lorelai and Luke -- that we were ready to move on to the next story line," says Bishop, who plays Emily Gilmore, Lorelai's often prickly mother. "That we were ready to begin the next season in the very next moment . . . I see a series of dots after the last scene of the show, rather than a period, or better yet, an exclamation point."
There was a sense this was coming. After contract negotiations with its two stars (Graham and Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory) dragged on, "Gilmore" wrapped its season finale before it was certain that it would also be the series finale. For a brief blip, hope surged that the show would return for an abbreviated 13-episode season in the fall. But the network pulled the plug a few weeks ago.
"I felt like the bottom dropped out," Bishop says. "I thought [the 13-episode season] was excellent because we could really wrap up the stories nice and neat and kind of give the audience a chance to say goodbye."
Truth is, the show has been ready to go for a while now. Last year, series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino left, and David Rosenthal took over as the show's supervisor. The writing, says Edward Herrmann (who plays Richard Gilmore, Lorelai's father), then "tended to lose a little of its sharp edges." And there were plot twists that irked the faithful. Lorelai married Rory's biological father in a spur-of-the-moment wedding in France, a detour that has since been disposed of. Logan, Rory's debatable boyfriend, proposed in the middle of a formal graduation party at her grandparents' house -- a move that any Gilmore fan would consider cringeworthy.
So it comes to this: In the penultimate episode, which aired last week, Rory said no to Logan's proposal. Which is probably a good thing, given that she's only 22 and she's incredibly brilliant and she doesn't need to be limiting her future career to a 60-mile radius of where he's already chosen to live. Still, did he really mean it when he said it was all or nothing? Marry me or you're dumped? Whoa. Some whiplash there. There must be some fallout coming on this one . . . oops. Nope. No time left for that.
Luke and Lorelai, meanwhile, are in another one of those moments where they are misreading signals and not talking to each other about how they feel and generally stalling on their way to a magnificent future together. We think.
"There are suggestions that it would be resolved that way," Herrmann says, "but we'll never know, because we didn't know it was going to be over. You don't have the emotionally satisfying moments. After seven years, each of those storylines needs its own episode, almost."
What will happen will be a town-wide graduation party for Rory, one last hurrah for the fictional hamlet of Stars Hollow, with all its quirky and endearing regulars -- Sookie and Jackson, Lane and Zack, Kirk and Taylor, Miss Patty and Babette. With such a crowded final setting, Bishop says, it was hard to have many intimate moments.
"It's unfortunate that, I think, a lot of those fans are going to think there isn't closure," says Liza Weil, who plays Rory's best friend, Paris, and who points out that the writers were hamstrung by the situation. "Hopefully, there won't be toilet paper in the trees of all the writers."
Then again, Weil got her conclusion. She's off to Harvard Medical School, and she had a final goodbye hug with Rory in last week's episode. She's not in tonight's finale, and only vaguely knows how it wraps up.
No one from the production end of the show was willing to talk, but this much we were told: The pilot for "Gilmore" started with Lorelai in the diner, holding out her coffee mug, begging Luke for her sixth cup of caffeine for the morning. Shortly after, she was joined by Rory. And, in the final scene tonight, it will once again be Luke, Lorelai and Rory hanging out in the diner. And they'll be headed in a good "direction," to once again quote Graham.
Only where that direction leads them, there's no way to know.

Esa had her vet appointment last night - she did really good. She was full of energy though - especially since we didn't go for a walk last night. She might not have felt good because of the shots - she would sleep and hour and wake up - that was 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30. I'm exhausted today.
She is just so sweet - every day she's getting better at listening and not nipping. I admit it - I'M IN LOVE!
In other parts of life - I can't believe that Gilmore Girls is ending and from the sounds of it so abruptly!

The weekend went by way to fast and here it is Monday again.
Dan and I took a break and when out for lunch and to get groceries on Saturday. When we left Chipotle, I said "it was nice to eat without being interrupted!" The rest of the day was spend walking Esa - we met a 5 month old golden lab down the road. She had a blast playing with Benjamin. Once again, it's amazing how friendly everyone is when you have a dog - of course, Esa sits there and just watches people and other dogs, so then people come up and meet her.
Dan is even meeting people! He met the terrier (and the owner) that Esa and I met the other day. One lady across the street came RUNNING out to met Esa. Dan said that he thinks her husband was talking to him the other day.
Yesterday, we went to Lois & Harry's house (Dan's mom & her hubby). Esa was SO GOOD! We exepected to be chasing her the whole time, but she kept busy with the pet toys that were there and just walking around the yard (without putting things into her mouth - thank god!).
I need to figure out what to do with my photos since yahoo photos is closing down. More than likely, I'll put them on Kodak Gallery since that's the easiest to upload to with our camera.

OH - I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND! I'm so tired. Dan is so tired, he's losing patience. He said last night he came home and was so hungry (he forgot to take his lunch so the last time he ate was lunch). Esa wouldn't leave him alone and he kind of lost it - he slammed her toy into the couch to get her attention. He was losing his patience this morning too. He mentioned about thinking about calling in sick.
Let me just say - THIS is why (one of the reasons) we don't have kids. Dan loses his patience so easily - and he knows Esa doesn't understand - she just wants to play. I also think that Esa is the Alpha in the relationship with Dan (what a pushover!). Me on the other hand, I know that I NEED to be the alpha female with her.
We'll see how things go this weekend - I'll probably have to have a talk with him. Dan even mentioned he hasn't been able to mow the lawn because someone needs to watch her - I told him, just put her in the crate while you go out and mow the lawn (seemed like an easy solution to me!).
Esa and I went for a walk yesterday evening and actually met some of the neighborhood dogs. Two families were talking on the corner (one in their yard, one walking by) and Esa saw the dog they were walking and just sat down and watched. Then the couples said, bring her over - so Esa got to play with a pug (that was being walked) and play through the fence with a terrier. It's amazing how friendly people are when you have a dog.
Once we got back, I was trying to take care of our lilac bush, but Esa was all over me, so I took her inside. 5 minutes later, I walk in and there's kleenex all over the place! She had jumped up on the couch and pulled the kleenex box off of the table behind the sofa. Of course, it's just a game for her to get the kleenex out of her mouth. The other thing she was after last night were the scissors that were on a side table in the remote/pen holder. Now, that was dangerous! I've told Dan expect the remote to go missing one day - she's already picked it up twice. Outside, it was a big chunk of mulch. Everything she picks up, I'm thinking - OH NO! I've watched too much Emergency Vet on Animal Planet.
Esa was able to meet the bunnies in our backyard last night. I was trying to get the bunny to run out - thinking that Esa would go chasing after it - it didn't move. So Esa heads down the stairs and sees the bunny, but just watches it. She then goes towards the right to do her business (the bunny was on the left side of the yard). Then the bunny goes running out - well - Esa MUST of thought it was going to run towards her because she come RUNNING back into the house and stands behind me. She wouldn't go back out until I went outside first. It was hilarious! I guess it's kind of good that she's kind of hesitant of new things - maybe her personality will be more shepherd than husky.
This weekend, Esa will be meeting Grandma. We're going to see Dan's mom and Harry (her husband) on Sunday. OH - and the big thing - Esa's first bath. I'll probably have to put on my bathing suit for that one.

Not too exciting of a night last night. "Aunt" Chrissie & "Uncle" David came over to be introduced to Esa. It went well - wait until Monday when "Aunt" Chrissie comes over as "Dr. Foster"!
After Chrissie & David left, we went for a walk around the block. Esa was pulling basically the WHOLE time. I guess she just had a lot of energy. I only got up once during the night with her (around 4 a.m.). She had to go, came back in, walked around, and started to whimpering because she had to go again (#2 this time).
Chrissie said she could see the husky traits in her - the "pouncing" on stuff. Let's home she doesn't have the "roaming" husky gene in her!
Dan and I are both SO TIRED! I think we need to do tag team this weekend so each of us can have a full night's rest!
Oh - forgot to mention - One accident today - and that was Dan's fault. Dan had increased the size of the crate section (only like 2 inches). Obviously, it was two inches too much - when I got home last night, Esa had peed in her crate. Dan felt so bad - he was just trying to give her more room to stretch since she likes to REALLY stretch out when she sleeps.

What a surprise I had waiting for me when I got home! Esa had somehow gotten out of the crate and made a mess - luckily, not too big of a mess - just a couple of things that she's been interested in and decided to play with.
We have been putting our shoes on top of the hope chest that is next to the back door for easy "grab & go" for when she goes out back. There were a couple of other things on there too (a promo puppy starter kit - one puppy pad and a bottle of cleaning solution).
Where to start with the list of things in the mess -
o My crocs were on the floor – one in the family room, one in the living room. The one in the living room had been chewed on the most, but basically just the strap that goes around back (that I don’t use anyway). There was a chunk missing out of it, but luckily, it was on the floor beside the shoe.
o The plastic bag that we had by her leash (that was at the front door) was in the family room.
o Her blanket from the crate was pulled out of the crate. Luckily, she’s good about not tearing it all apart.
o The other “pet” blanket that was on the loveseat in the family room, was on the floor in the family room
o The promo puppy starter kit was on the floor in the family room, with plastic pieces all over the place from where she had torn through the bag and then started chewing on the puppy pad.
o The bottle of cleaning solution that was in the promo kit was in the living room – luckily, it didn’t leak or she didn’t put a hole in it.
o Pee in one spot in the family room
o A picture that was on a side table in the living room fell onto the floor.
I walked in and said – “hello? Anyone here?” and then I heard her jump off of the couch in the living room.
By Monday, she had gotten over her fear of coming down the stairs from upstairs. She could easily walk up the stairs but wasn’t sure about coming down. It’s funny – she comes down one at a time until she gets about 5 steps from the bottom and then basically JUMPS. Before that, she would walk up a couple and then stop (basically because we would tell her to stop and come back down). So, I thought there might be a surprise upstairs too, but nope. AND the bedroom door was open.
I think she wasn’t out as long as I think she was or she was having too good of the time with the things she did find.
When Dan got home, we went to Petsmart. She was so good – playing with the other dogs and the people that came up to her. She did have an accident in the store (a poopy one), so that wasn’t cool, but they are so nice there. We meet the trainer of the puppy class (that starts May 19) which Esa will be going to. We got Esa a new crate – since she’s basically already outgrown Babe’s old one. We could tell she wasn’t really comfortable. Some puppy biscuits, shampoo, two toys, an ID tag, puppy pads (which we can’t use because she thinks it’s a toy), poopy bag holder for her leash, a fur stopper for the bathtub, and a brush.
We then stopped at Roy Rogers to get some dinner and while I was waiting for Dan to come back out with the food, Steve, our consultant from work, drove up. So chatted with him and showed off Esa. Steve also got to meet Dan.
Esa was VERY good this morning. She loves the teething toy that I picked out. You wet it down and put it in the freezer. I gave it to her this morning and she LOVED it. I let her stay out while I was getting ready for work and she just crashed on the loveseat. She finally went outside while I was getting my bagel ready. I think I’ve figured out how to easily get her back inside – shake the treat container. She seems to come running for that. The peeping tom came by and Esa just looked at the door. I kept trying to tell her that she needs to scare it away. Then it was time to put her in the crate until Dan got up, which according to him, was about an hour later because she was crying.
Tonight Esa will get to meet “Aunt” Chrissie & “Uncle” David. Then we’ll let her know that Chrissie is going to be her doctor! At least she should be happier to see Chrissie than Babe ever was.
The appointment at that allergist went well – I got to the office around 2:15 for my 2:30 appointment. I didn’t get in to see the doctor until about 3:30. First we talked/asked all the questions then the skin scratch test (about 40 different serums) and wait 15 minutes. Well – too many false positives, so then it was the shots. 16 shots and 15 minutes later, it was confirmed that I’m allergic to mold and may eventually have problems with grass & trees. The solution – continue the prescription nasal spray and start taking Allegra with a follow-up appointment in 3 months. I finally got out of there at 5:15 p.m.

Well - NOW I understand moms having to leave work at a moment's notice.
Dan had a meeting at his new office building and we thought he'd be able to stop at home between the new office building and going to the Tysons Corner building - nope - not going to happen. So, I had to break the news to the boss (who was happy yesterday with us getting a puppy) that I had to take half a day of PTO (paid time off). I was going to leave here at 1:30 p.m. any way for a 2:30 p.m. doctor's appointment and I wasn't going to come back to the office since I've been told that an allergy test takes a LONG time (it took a co-worker 3 hours!). I had to tell Steph as she was running out to a meeting, so I couldn't tell if she was upset or what. She's leaving early anyway for her doctor's appointment - so to me - what's the difference!
Last night was tiring. When I got home, Dan was done with the pup. He was running on 4 hours sleep though. He did say "Did I tell you thank you for letting us get a dog?" Esa fell asleep around 9:30 AND in her crate (which she's already grown out of). She woke up at 12, 2, 4 and up at 6. I got the 12 and 4, Dan got the 2 (which I didn't even hear). Each time she went to lay down on a throw rug and I would just pick her up and move her to the crate, she would be fine and fall right to sleep (of course, being the good mom that I am, I sit for a second to make sure she's ok). She cried once or twice and I just yelled downstairs "Esa, stop" and she would.
Her new favorite toy is an ice cube. I knew that Portos used to get ice when Officer Bennie and him were on their "beat". She LOVED it - she was chasing it all over the kitchen floor and then realized that when it was on the carpet, it wasn't going to go anywhere.

YIKES - what a weekend! This entry is going to be done with several entries since there is so much to say and I'm trying to do this at work!
I'll start with Saturday. Well, we got up early and out the door by 10:30 a.m. - hoping to get there by 11:30 - which we did, but by the time we were sent in the right direction, two people had already signed up for puppy interviews AND for "Charma". So, of course, trying not to get my hopes up, I keep thinking, "we're not going to get her - it just isn't meant to be".
While the first family (with two young kids in tow) were being interviewed, Charma & Mac (her foster) showed up. I was hesitant about going over to see her, just because I didn't want to fall in love, but I wanted to be polite, so introduced myself to Mac and of course he started talking. How it's been with her, the little quirks she does (like barking at you when she wants to play), etc. Then someone came over to "separate" us - they were actually sending him over to go to the interviewing family - but I'm sure it doesn't look good to have an "in".
They were interviewing the second couple while this was going on too. I think they talked them out of her because I overheard them mention some of the other names listed on the website.
So we were interviewed by the first person and then the second person (Jen) and Jen mentioned that they were leaning towards us, since we don’t have any kids and “Charma” had been returned for nipping at a toddler. Even when she said – “Congratulations, it’s a girl”, Dan and I looked at each other in non-belief. So they handed her over to us and we went to fill out the paperwork. While Dan was filling the paperwork out and we were also waiting around, Esa was playing with the other dogs. There was one dog that she REALLY enjoyed playing with – he just basically rolled over and let her play with him.
We found out that she’s had a hard life. Besides being returned, she and her littermates, along with their mom, were surrendered to the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter when the pups were a day old. The owner wasn’t given a choice so they were basically taken. She had the mom & pups outside and it’s unacceptable – especially when there are babies involved. February was a cold month for us too.
Even when we were filling out paperwork, people were coming to see “Charma”. Not sure what happened with the second couple, but the father of the first family came up and shook our hands to congratulate us. They took home Randall, a black lab mix. Then the shopping began. We had to buy EVERYTHING but the crate, since we brought Babe’s old crate. It’s ok for right now, but she’ll be growing out of it shortly. When we got home, we realized that we didn’t get small “good girl” treats, so I ran out to get some.
She’s really good at going when she’s outside, but we’ve had 4 accidents so far. First accident was at Petsmart. I knew I should of taken her out, but didn’t. Second accident was in front of her first visitor, Suzanne. Third was in our bedroom – she was running around and Dan wasn’t right behind her. The fourth, in the family room – no idea when that happened. So not bad – 4 times in 2 days. We definitely realize that right after she wakes up from a nap, she needs to go out. That seems to be when the accidents happen.
She had some quirks that we didn’t know about. She likes to bury her (milk)bones if she doesn’t feel like eating them right them. The first one I gave her (a full small Milkbone), she took and started going behind the furniture and then I realized, she was trying to bury it! She then went to the door, so I opened it, she went running out to the side of the house, Dan goes running after her and watches her move the stones on the side of the house, drop the bone, and cover it back up! So, she has bones “buried” throughout the house. She usually goes back and eats them about 30 minutes later though. One of the bones was “dropped” into the empty food dish while she took a drink and she picked it right up after taking her drink! Pretty smart!
One bad habit – she’s a nipper – no wonder she’s not good around kids. Of course, we understand that she’s just a puppy who is teething. We just keep directing her towards her toys and doing “timeout” if she’s bad. She does only do it when she’s playing so that’s good.
This is all on the first day! Saturday night, she was really good. She went into the crate at about 10:30 and didn’t wake up until about 5:45 a.m. Not too bad.
Sunday, we all went for a walk and then Dan went to work. The girls by themselves. We went for a walk and hung out on the porch. She enjoys just hanging out and watching the world go by, soaking it all in. She’s not sure about the cars. We were almost back from our walk when the neighbor across the street brought his dog out and the dog was READY TO COME FLYING across the street. Esa stood there, and then started backing off. Remember – this is from across the street! Poor puppy – she just wants to play.
One thing that kills are the farts – yes, the farts – man, can she stink up a room. It might be the all natural food or changing from one food to another. We’ll see. She might just have an upset tummy. She went #2 a lot yesterday (all outside luckily!).
Last night didn’t go too well. I put her in the crate she whined a little, but not too bad. Next thing I know, she’s out – the screws weren’t all in place. I put her back in, with a little whimpering and went to bed. Then about 30 minutes later – it got BAD. Just whimpering like you would not believe. I finally had enough and went downstairs. I tried to get her to calm down, no luck, so let her out and then outside. Sure enough, had to go. She came back in, I put her in the crate and sat there few and she went to sleep. I didn’t hear her again until this morning. Dan said that he let her out when he got home and put her right back in. She whined a little, but went right back to sleep.
When I got out of the shower this morning, both Dan and Esa were up. Dan said that she started whining while I was in the shower. I didn’t hear her before I got in the shower so I figured, Dan could get her if she cried. She was full of energy, so Dan took her for a long walk even before I left for work.
So starts the story of Esa Wentz. She’s named after Esa Tikkanen, a former Capitals player. It was Esa or Calle and I didn’t want Calle because I have a friend who’s daughter is named that. Zed will have to wait until we get a boy – more than likely a cat. We just didn’t think Zed would be a good girl’s name.

I've been so obsessed with Charma that I haven't mentioned that I've been taking care of health issues also this week. Since I've been hounded by sinus infections and just a plain stuffed up head this year, it was time. Monday, I went to the ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat doc) and she sent me to get a CAT scan. Wednesday, did a followup - nothing was found in the CAT scan, but she said to take the antibotics. I asked if I should be concerned since this would be the 3rd time this year on antibotics. She said as long as there is a break, I should be fine.
Tuesday, I'll be going to the allergist - the next step. To see what I'm allergic to. I just have a feeling that it has something to do with work. Our ceiling is all water stained, it doesn't get cleaned well, and we have pests running around all over the airport. Matt & Chris (co-workers) saw a BAT in the Main Terminal on Thursday! It's just crazy!
Now a little more about the seminar yesterday. The speaker was Robin Gerber. I won the Katharine Graham book that she wrote and got it signed too! She spoked ALOT about Elenor Roosevelt. The seminar really made you think - are you being your authentic self? Who you really want to be and where your interests are? It's definitely VERY thought provoking and will take time to reflect on.
I've been expanding my "friends" list on 360 - I enjoy reading other's blogs, so it was time to extend an invite to read my blog. I've come to figure out that many of the friends and family that are on my list, aren't active (EXCEPT YOU PAM! LOL!) or at least don't comment so I'm getting the feeling that they aren't active.

So, my niece Chrissy turns 18 today - WOW! Doesn't seem possible.
I had a seminar today - "Authentic Leadership in Women" - it was really good and made you really think of what you want out of life and is what you have now, what you want.
Tomorrow is D day - or should I say P day. We'll see if it's meant to be or not. Dan and I just had a talk about if I'm really ready - we haven't really talked about missing Babe, but we both really do. I told Dan that I think I need this. We both miss having some companionship around during the week when we are apart. But I also said, if it doesn't work out tomorrow, it's not the right time and we'll continue the search.
Wish us luck.

I was a little disappointed with the Bon Jovi performance last night. I'm not too thrilled with the song "Breath", but I know that that's the song that is currently on the radio, so of course they are going to play it.
Let me just say, Tuesday night was the first night that I've watched American Idol this season. I thought Phil did a WONDERFUL job with "Blaze of Glory", LaKisha did WONDERFUL with "This ain't a Love Song", Blake's rendition of "You Give Love a Bad Name" was good! Simon hit it on the head though - either you'd like it or not - Dan didn't like it. Chris was OK with "Wanted Dead or Alive" - it just seemed like someone covering it - not original or a really good voice. Melinda - I HATED IT - I felt like I was watching Aretha Franklin covering Bon Jovi. Jordin sucked and at least she admitted it. It was just the wrong song for her.
I called my family last night, because I checked Mae's myspace page and there were pictures of Joanne's car smashed! A truck pulling a tiller or seeder was not secure and the arms came down and hit Joanne's car (that was parked in front of the house) and pulled the fender off of the truck coming in the opposite direction! What a freak accident! Luckily, no one was in/about to get in Joanne's car or someone would have been hurt.
No one answered the phone at the house, so I called VJ and he told me the whole story and then Vincent came walking by with Lil (their dog) so then I talked to Vincent. I found out that Vincent got to go to the NASCAR Talladaga race. Of course, he had to tell me the whole story!

OH NO - Charma is no longer on the webpage! I've e-mailed to see if she's still available. It's ONLY BEEN TWO DAYS SINCE I INQUIRED!
Gotta remember - if it's meant to be, it'll work out.

So I e-mailed the foster parent of Charma. She will be at Saturday's event in Falls Church.
Dan seemed to be open to her - especially since she fits both breeds of what either one of us wants. I thought for sure he would say, not a puppy.
Just got off the phone with Dan - HE'S IN LOVE! He's all set to go to the event on Saturday and get her. We're both trying not to get our hopes up and keep in the back of our mind if we don't click, it's not going to work.

THANK YOU BON JOVI!
Since Bon Jovi was on American Idol last night - I've sold all 3 of the CDs that I had for sale on Amazon.com & Half.com!
I've missed half of tonights show because of talking to my family in NY. More about that tomorrow - and what I thought about the versions of the Bon Jovi songs the contestants sang!

So, I keep looking at different websites for dogs available for adoption. We've talked about getting a dog, but more than likely an adult. I mentioned to Dan that I already had a name picked out. He wasn't too happy when I told him "Zed". He just said, we'll talk about it.
Wait until I show him this -
Charma
Breed: Husky/Shepherd mix
Sex: Female
Age: Approx. 11 weeks
Color: Tan and white
Size: Approx. 15 lbs.
Status: Available with foster
Good With Kids: Yes
Good With Cats: Not Yet Determined
Good With Dogs: Yes
Charma and her littermates are spunky and friendly pups. They play and roll and wrestle with complete joy. These super cute pups are outgoing scamps with personality plus. They were born on February 14, 2007. Given their current size and breed mix, they're going to be big dogs that will benefit from having a fenced yard. Would you like to give Charma a great home forever? For more information about Charma, please contact her foster at mac.lax@verizon.net.
To meet Charma at an adoption event, please e-mail puppies@lostdogrescue.org or call (703)295-DOGS.
Would you like to become the Paw-Pal Sponsor for Charma? Click here to find out how.
Will I be able to talk him into it??????? I don't know......
I do know that Dan has been partial to huskies, so there may be a chance. I'm hoping that since it's in foster care, Charma might have a little housetraining done.
I've e-mailed to see if she'll be at the adoption event on Sunday in Leesburg. Dan's working (at 4), but maybe I can get him up to Leesburg. Then it'll be ALL OVER!
